Ballet gala concert held as part of the 15th Gabala International Music Festival
The first day of the 15th Gabala International Music Festival, held on the initiative and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture, the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and Gilan, offered audiences a truly special programme. On the evening of July 29, an open-air ballet gala concert took place. Featuring world-renowned ballet stars, this unforgettable evening gave the audience the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and elegance of classical ballet. The gala concert was attended by government officials, cultural figures, art enthusiasts, and members of the public. The performers included Timur Asgarov, Honoured Artist of Azerbaijan and principal dancer of the Mariinsky Theatre, and Renata Shakirova, principal dancer of the same theatre; Frederick Stuckwisch and Zhanna Gubanova, soloists of the Bavarian State Ballet; Artem Ovcharenko, principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet, and Anna Tikhomirova, first soloist of the company; Alessandro Frola and Madison Young, soloists of the Vienna State Ballet; as well as Jessica Xuan and Vsevolod Maievskyi, soloists of the Dutch National Ballet. The gala concert programme featured performances set to the music of world-renowned composers.
