Existing opportunities, challenges, and prospects in the trade and services sector discussed in Gabala

On February 17, 2026, at the initiative of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), with the support of the Gabala Region Executive Power and the Municipality of Bum settlement, a meeting with entrepreneurs was held in the Bum settlement of the Gabala Region on the topic “Existing Opportunities, Challenges, and Prospects in the Trade and Services Sector.” The event was attended by representatives of the Gabala Region Executive Power, the Municipality of Bum settlement, the Shaki-Zagatala Regional Division of the Ministry of Economy, the Gabala State Vocational Education Center, Azerishiq OJSC, Azeriqaz Production Union, the State Employment Agency, the State Tax Service, the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as entrepreneurs operating within the region. During the meeting, detailed information was presented on the existing state support mechanisms for entrepreneurs in the trade and services sector, issues of tax and administrative regulation, electricity supply, vocational training opportunities, and employment programs. It was noted that the organization of direct dialogue between government institutions and entrepreneurs contributes to the further improvement of the business environment, the prompt resolution of existing issues, and the creation of new opportunities for cooperation. In this context, KOBİA continues to organize similar meetings in the regions on a regular basis. As part of the event, an exchange of views took place among the participants; the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the course of their activities were heard, representatives of the relevant institutions responded to the questions raised, and opportunities for joint action in the respective areas were discussed.
