Forum entitled “Towards Quality Management in Vocational Education: Establishing Internal Quality Assurance” held in Gabala
A forum entitled “Towards Quality Management in Vocational Education: Establishing Internal Quality Assurance” was held at the Gabala State Vocational Education Centre. The event was jointly organized by the Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA) and the State Agency for Vocational Education. The forum was attended by Tural Ahmadov, Chairperson of the Board of the Education Quality Assurance Agency, Hasil Abbasov, Chairperson of the Board of the State Employment Agency, Sabina Babayeva, Head of Sector at the Department of Science, Higher and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Science and Education, Kanan Hasanli, Head of Department at the State Agency for Vocational Education, heads of structural divisions and staff members of the EQAA, as well as directors of various vocational education institutions across the country, quality assurance specialists, and vocational subject teachers. The participants first took part in an information tour of the Gabala State Vocational Education Centre, during which they were provided with information on the specializations offered at the Centre, the educational process, and the conditions created for students. They also familiarized themselves with the Centre’s infrastructure, material and technical facilities, laboratories and workshops, as well as an exhibition of students’ work. During the subsequent forum, discussions focused on improving institutional governance in vocational education institutions, establishing internal quality assurance systems, and promoting a culture of quality. Within the framework of the forum, which consisted of two panel discussions, participants exchanged views on the links between vocational education and the labour market, challenges and emerging trends in the field of quality assurance, as well as practical steps towards establishing internal quality assurance systems in vocational education institutions. At the end of the event, questions of interest to the participants were answered.
