Gabala hosted a commemorative event dedicated to the Khojaly genocide
On February 26, 2024 Sabuhi Abdullayev, head of the Region Executive Power, spoke at the event, which was attended by representatives of the executive power of the Gabala region, law enforcement agencies, heads of departments, enterprises and organizations, residents of Khojaly and the public temporarily living in our area drew attention to the fact that after the second return to power of national leader Heydar Aliyev, this bloody tragedy received a political and legal assessment, and that the terrorism committed by Armenian savages against our people throughout history will never be forgotten and stated that under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani army defeated the hated enemy, liberated our occupied lands, including Khojaly, and took revenge on the enemy in connection with the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy. Khojaly intellectual Kamal Mammadov and elder Giyas Ahmadov gave a speech and spoke about the unprecedented atrocities committed against civilians in the Khojaly tragedy by the Armenian armed forces and said that after the liberation of Khojaly from the separatists, they celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the tragedy with a completely different mood, and were looking forward to the day when they would move to their native land noting that even on the day of the merciless genocide, the Khojaly residents wrote glorious pages in the heroic history of our people. Finally, they prayed for the souls of the martyrs, visited the Martyrs’ Alley complex in Gabala region, laid flowers to the graves and took photos.
