Gabala hosts the opening of the 12th International Young Rescuer Competition and the final stage of the 13th Republican Young Rescuer and Firefighter Championship
On June 29, 2025, the official opening ceremony of the 12th International Young Rescuer Competition and the 13th Republican Young Rescuer and Firefighter Championship was held in Gabala. The event was organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This year’s competition, organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Gabala Region Executive Power, brings together teams from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Adil Abdullayev, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, senior officials of the Ministry, Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, representatives of law enforcement agencies and the region education sector, as well as the children and family members of the martyrs of the Patriotic War. The event commenced with the presentation of the National Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the performance of the National Anthem. Addressing the participants, Lieutenant General Adil Abdullayev emphasized that such competitions contribute to the patriotic education of the younger generation and help schoolchildren develop practical skills for responding to emergency situations. In his remarks, Sabuhi Abdullayev highlighted the significance of the competition, noting that the state youth policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is being successfully continued and further developed under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He also stressed the important role of such events in strengthening international cooperation and wished all participants every success. The ceremony concluded with a parade of the participating teams. A total of 12 teams will compete for the championship title in the final stage of this year’s Republican Championship.
