“GabalaFest” guests became acquainted with the archaeological research conducted in Gabala
Taking part in “GabalaFest” as an honorary guest, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli, became acquainted with the archaeological excavation works carried out at the Gabala State Historical and Artistic Reserve. Farhad Guliyev, Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, PhD in History and Associate Professor, as well as members of the expedition, also attended the event. Gafar Jabiyev, Head of the Department of Islamic Period Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, Head of the Gabala Archaeological Expedition, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and Professor, provided detailed information on the ongoing excavations carried out in the Gala area of Ancient Gabala and their preliminary scientific results. At the end of the visit, an exchange of views was held on the study of Gabala’s archaeological heritage, the preservation of material cultural samples, and the conservation of archaeological remains. President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, emphasized the importance of further expanding archaeological research areas and gave relevant recommendations and instructions.
