On August 31, 2024, at the Garden Hotel in Gabala, a presentation ceremony was held to mark the completion of the construction of three solar power stations with a total capacity of 450 kW at the wine factory of the “SAVALAN – ASPİ Winery” LLC located in the Savalan village of Gabala district. This event was conducted in alignment with the “Green Energy” policy implemented by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, aimed at the efficient use of renewable energy sources. Opening the event with a speech, Arif Rahimov, the General Director of “SAVALAN – ASPİ Winery” LLC, greeted all attendees and emphasized that the solar power stations being commissioned in Gabala today are of significant importance for the development of renewable energy and that this project will make waves not only in Azerbaijan but globally. The Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, spoke about the development prospects of the district and highlighted that the newly commissioned solar power station represents a significant contribution from Gabala to the country’s “Green World Solidarity Year” as declared by President Ilham Aliyev, and to the “COP-29” conference to be held in our country this November. He expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the district community to everyone involved in the implementation of the project. Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, discussed the power and significance of the solar power station. He noted that Azerbaijan’s successful “green” energy policy is now being applied not only in industrial enterprises but also in individual homes. The General Director of “SEES” LLC, Vugar Shahmuradov, noted in his speech that, unlike large solar power stations, the smaller distributed stations are deployed through local transformer stations and partially offset the power transmitted from the distribution network. He mentioned that in the future, such small stations would serve as an additional source of income. At the end of the event, a tour was conducted of the solar power station with a capacity of 450 kW and the solar panels constructed in the Savalan village area of Gabala district for the efficient use of renewable energy sources.
