On March 4, 2023, a symbolic visit to Gabala was organized on the occasion of the start of passenger transportation on the Baku-Gabala-Baku route.

According to the relevant orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, passenger transportation on the Baku-Gabala-Baku route was started and a symbolic visit to Gabala was organized with the participation of members of the media, transportation experts, famous travel bloggers, intellectuals and mass media representatives. On this occasion, at the event held at Gabala Railway Station, the passengers of the symbolic journey were welcomed by the employees of the Gabala Region Executive Power, public representatives and elders. Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov, who participated in the event, said that the construction of a railway line to Gabala for the first time is a very important event in the history of modern Azerbaijan and in order to achieve the strategic goals set by President Ilham Aliyev regarding the development of the transport sector, Azerbaijan Railways take important measures in the direction of modernizing the railway infrastructure and bringing it up to international standards. The Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, welcomed the guests and spoke about the rapid development of our country, including Gabala, as a result of the domestic and foreign policy, which was first established by our national leader Haydar Aliyev and successfully implemented by the country's President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and stated that the construction and commissioning of the railway line to the district will make greater contributions to the development of tourism in Gabala and expressed his gratitude to the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, on behalf of the region community, for implementation of  such an important project in the Gabala region. It should be noted that the first trip in the mentioned direction will take place on March 18.
