On November 8, the “Victory Day” was celebrated in Gabala

Today, a regional event was held in Gabala on the occasion of November 8 “Victory Day”. Heads of the Region Executive Power and law enforcement agencies first visited the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev, then, together with the families of martyrs, veterans, participants in the Patriotic War, they laid flowers in front of the Alley of Martyrs complex, erected in memory of the martyrs who died for the freedom of our land. Then, an exhibition of photographs of the martyrs of the Patriotic War and schoolchildren’s handiwork, organized in the Gabala Cultural Center, was viewed, and the event continued in the hall of the Cultural Center. First, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sounded, and a minute of silence was commemorated in memory of our martyrs who died on the way to their homeland, for the land. Speaking at the event, head of the Executive Power of the Region Sabuhi Abdullayev spoke about the successful continuation of the army building strategy laid down by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, today the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and how the unity of the army and the people, united like an iron fist, at his call, fought hard and won, wished the mercy of God to the martyrs, patience to the families of the martyrs and good health to the veterans. At the event, Colonel Anar Agabayov, Head of the Department of Mobilization and Conscription State Service of Gabala Region, congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the holiday and spoke about the war path of our army during the war. Abulfaz Abdurrahmanov, the father of the martyr, and Elshad Abdurahmanov, a teacher at the secondary school in the Mammadaghali village and a participant in the Patriotic War, spoke about the heroism of our soldiers and officers in the war, expressed deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for their attention and care. The event “Victory Day” continued with a poem-composition performed by schoolchildren.
