On September 27, an event dedicated to Remembrance Day was held in the Gabala region

September 27 – a regional event in connection with Remembrance Day was held on the Alley of Martyrs of the Gabala region. Firstly, the National Anthem was played and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs at the event was attended by representatives of the regional executive power, law enforcement agencies, heads of administrative enterprises and organizations, family members of the martyrs of the Patriotic War, war participants, veterans and representatives of the public of the region. Sabuhi Abdullayev, the head of the district executive power, spoke at the event mentioned that the Army-building strategy, which was founded by the great leader Heydar Aliyev, is being continued with great success today by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev,about the tenacious struggle of the army-people unity, united like an iron fist by his call, and our victory, which culminated in the Great Victory, and wished God’s mercy to the martyrs, patience to the families of the martyrs, and health to the veterans. Jalil Sagarchinov, Elshad Abdurahmanov, Telman Abdukhaligov, Teymur Alishanov and Kamal Mammadov, speaking on behalf of martyred parents, participants of the Patriotic War, elders, young people and residents of Khojaly city spoke about the heroism of our martyrs and veterans in the Patriotic War and expressed their deep gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown to them. Participants of the event visited the complex erected in memory of our martyrs, who accepted martyrdom for the liberation of our lands from occupation, and laid bouquets of flowers on the graves and in front of the memorial plaques. Also during the day, prayers were read for the souls of martyrs in all mosques and churches operating in the region in connection with September 27 - Remembrance Day.
