Police officers’ professional holiday celebrated in Gabala
A ceremonial event was held in the Gabala region to mark the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijani police and July 2nd – Azerbaijan Police Day. The participants first visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid fresh flowers at its base, and paid tribute to his memory, expressing their profound respect. The event then continued at the Gabala Region Police Department. It was attended by Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, heads of the region’s law enforcement agencies, police officers, and police veterans. Opening the event with welcoming remarks, Colonel of Police Fakhraddin Abbasov, Chief of the Gabala Region Police Department, congratulated the personnel on the occasion of the commemorative date, spoke about the historical path of the Azerbaijani police, highlighted the attention and support that National Leader Heydar Aliyev devoted to the police authorities, and emphasized that this tradition is being successfully continued today by the country's leadership. In his address, Sabuhi Abdullayev, Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, stressed that, at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, important decisions had been adopted to strengthen the internal affairs authorities both organizationally and ideologically, purify their ranks, and promote highly qualified professional personnel. He noted that, within the framework of the comprehensive reforms being, implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the internal affairs authorities are also undergoing a process of modernization, and congratulated law enforcement officers on the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijani police and July 2nd – Azerbaijan Police Day. At the end of the event, a group of police officers who had distinguished themselves in the line of duty were presented with Certificates of Honor of the Region Executive Power.
