On June 12, 2026, a district-wide event dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day was held in Gabala. Participants of the event paid a visit to the monument of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, placed flowers at its foot and paid tribute to the memory of the outstanding statesman. The event continued with a conference held at the Gabala Culture Center, where the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was first performed, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the country's occupied territories. Opening the event, Ataya Osmanova, Deputy Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, welcomed the conference participants and spoke about the measures implemented, economic reforms carried out and ideological principles established under the leadership of the genius leader Heydar Aliyev, who made exceptional contributions to strengthening Azerbaijan’s state independence. She also noted that the National Leader’s domestic and foreign policy course, as well as his state-building concept, continue to be implemented and further strengthened by President Ilham Aliyev. In his speech, Abil Aghasafov, Chairman of the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, stated that National Salvation Day is not merely a calendar holiday for the Azerbaijani people, but a true day of salvation of great social, political and historical significance. He also emphasized the exceptional role played by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in preserving, strengthening and advancing Azerbaijan’s independence. Other speakers underlined the important role of National Salvation Day in the history of Azerbaijani statehood and stated that preserving and passing on national and moral values to future generations, as well as sustaining the ideology of Azerbaijanism, is a moral duty and a sacred responsibility of every citizen to the homeland. At the end of the event, a video dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day was shown, and a group of party activists were presented with certificates of merit and gifts by the Gabala Region Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party. The conference ended with the performance of the anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
