The concert of the “Detashe-Sabah” violin ensemble at the Gabala festival received great interest.
As part of the XIV Gabala Music Festival program, on July 26, in the afternoon, the concert program of the “Detashe-Sabah” violin ensemble was presented at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center. Before the concert began, the head of the ensemble, People's Artist and professor of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibayli, delivered a speech and provided information about the ensemble's activities. It was noted that the “Detashe-Sabah” violin ensemble of the Baku Music Academy has been operating for almost 20 years. The core of the ensemble is formed by members of the “Sabah” groups of the Academy. Due to the graduation of students, the composition of the ensemble changes every two to three years, and we have to start our work all over again. This is, of course, quite challenging. Unlike symphonic and chamber orchestras, the members of a violin ensemble perform without a conductor. Here, each performer must sense the sound and breath of the others, and interpret even the smallest nuances of the pieces purely through refined sensitivity. Achieving this requires tremendous dedication and effort,” the ensemble’s director emphasized. The concert featured works by Uzeyir Hajibayli, Tofig Guliyev, Gara Garayev, Farhad Badalbayli, U. Mammadov, as well as compositions by J.S. Bach, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, S. Prokofiev, D. Shostakovich, and other composers.
