The IV Sports Festival was held in Gabala city
On November 21, 2025, the IV Sports Festival was held in Gabala city within the framework of “Gabala Sports Capital 2025”. First, the participants of the event visited the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers at the monument, and paid tribute to the National Leader. At the event held in Heydar Aliyev park, sports such as badminton, judo, archery, fencing, winter sports, table tennis, triathlon, volleyball, basketball, rugby, gymnastics, rowing, athletics, boxing, taekwondo, cycling, handball, shooting, tennis, swimming, weightlifting, mountaineering, football and wrestling were showcased. The opening ceremony began with the playing of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Head of Gabala District Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, who gave a speech at the event, greeted the participants and expressed gratitude to the relevant organizations for holding such a great event in Gabala, noted that youth policy and attention given to young people and sports are always kept in the focus of the state’s attention, gave information about the international events, and sports competitions held in Gabala city, spoke about the conditions created for athletes in the district. Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov noted in his speech that, in the previous days of the Festival, educational activities, various intellectual games, film screenings, and trainings on the Constitution were held within the framework of the declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”. The ceremony, which was attended by 104 athleres representing 24 federations, continued with an artistic part.
