The opening ceremony of the international program “Gabala – The CIS Youth Capital 2025” has been held.
On July 2, 2025, the opening ceremony of the international program “Gabala – The CIS Youth Capital 2025” was held through the joint organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Gabala District Executive Power. At the event held at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center in Gabala, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played first, followed by the screening of a video titled “Gabala – Youth Capital. At the event, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva spoke about the essence of the "CIS Youth Capital" project and congratulated the residents of the district, especially the youth, on Gabala being selected as the CIS Youth Capital. Tatyana Kovaleva, a representative of the CIS Executive Committee, read out the congratulatory message from the CIS Secretary General and presented the certificate confirming Gabala's status as the "CIS Youth Capital" to the Head of the Gabala District Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev. In his speech, Sabuhi Abdullayev greeted the participants and expressed his gratitude to the relevant organizations for Gabala's participation in such a magnificent project. He noted that Gabala had been selected as Azerbaijan's “Sports Capital” this year and that many sports competitions within the scope of the “III. CIS Games” to be held in our country would take place in Gabala, and wished our region success in the implementation of the project. The “Gabala - CIS Youth Capital” logo was presented to the audience at the event, and the “CIS Youth Capital” anthem was played. The ceremony continued with a cultural performance.
