The opening was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Azerkhalcha" OJSC, Honored Artist Emin Mammadov, the creative staff of the organization, and the head of the Gabala District Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev. Speaking at the event, Emin Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerkhalcha OJSC, pointed out that 693 workers were employed in the production and creation of carpets with a mysterious color palette that has always been the focus of attention both within the country and abroad. He emphasized that the magnificent carpets, lovingly woven by mothers and grandmothers living in the regions, can now be purchased not only in Baku but also at the newly opened exhibition and sales salon in Gabala. He also noted that this venue will serve as a special place for organizing meaningful leisure activities for children and young people. Then, the Head of the Gabala District Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, noted that Gabala is currently experiencing a period of both historical richness and modern development, having become one of Azerbaijan’s major tourism centers with a growing number of local and international visitors each year. He emphasized that today’s Gabala is a modern city, distinguished by its wide and comfortable roads, impressive architecture, international airport, world-class congress center, five-star hotels, scenic parks, sports grounds, and recreation facilities. Expressing his confidence in the future of the newly opened salon operating within the Azerkhalcha OJSC workshop and showcasing exquisite handmade Azerbaijani carpets, he stated that it has the potential to become one of the region’s key tourist destinations and assured that full support will be provided for its development. The exhibition and sales hall will offer tourists interesting and unique services related to carpet weaving. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in the weaving process, enjoy tea while observing the overall workflow, or even weave (or commission) their own small souvenir carpet. Those interested in these paid services can contact the workshop management in advance. Wool and silk carpets are currently produced by experts at the “Azerkhalcha” OJSC workshops. In addition to traditional carpets featuring rich colors and intricate patterns designed to meet the demands of both local and international markets, the production of modern designs that suit contemporary interior requirements is also being carried out. To ensure continuous innovation and uniqueness in carpet design, “Azerkhalcha” collaborates with both local and international designers, artists, and master weavers.
