Victory Day is celebrated in Gabala on November 8

A region-wide event was held in the Gabala Regional Cultural Center dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day.  The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was sounded at the conference involving the Member of Milli Majlis Elshan Musayev, representatives of the Gabala Region Executive Power, departments, enterprises and organizations, intellectuals, elders and regional community. Then, a minute of silence was held to commemorate the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the liberation of our lands from occupation. The Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, who addressed the gathering, spoke of the army-building strategy, laid down by the great leader Heydar Aliyev and now being successfully continued by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He discussed the persistent struggle by the army and the people, united under the President's call into an "iron fist," and highlighted our victory. He also expressed prayers for the martyrs' souls and wished patience for their families, and good health for the veterans. Member of the Milli Majlis Elshan Musayev extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani people on the holiday and discussed the wartime journey of our army. The father of the martyr Jalil Safarchinov in his speech praised the heroism of our soldiers and officers on the battlefield and conveyed heartfelt thanks to the President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for their attention and concern. Other speakers noted the absolute and resolute success of the Azerbaijani army's mission to preserve territorial integrity under the leadership of the triumphant Supreme Commander-in-Chief. They further affirmed that the memory of those who gave their lives for the Homeland will be eternal.  The program ended with the screening of a video dedicated to the Victory Day.
